We need your help to continue our efforts. We ask you to consider joining our organization, meeting our beautiful ladies and sharing your gifts and talents, all for the glory of God.
The Altar Society is a great group of ladies who look forward to meeting you. We have a love for one another sharing our faith and doing God's work for our parish and community. Come, join us!

WELCOME LADIES!
The Ladies Altar Society is a service organization comprised of and open to ALL women of the parish. WE are the hands of Mary. We do much more than just taking care of the Altar, which includes the flowers, linens, vestments, altar server albs, and candles. We also work to help serve the needs of the parish.
The St Stephen Altar Society, the "Hands of Mary", is an organization for all women of the parish. Our ministry entails many services including the luncheons for the bereaved after each funeral. We attend to the altar, flowers, linens, vestments, altar server albs, candles and cleaning the pews. We decorate the church and foyers for special occasions and provide meals for Father Emmet and the visiting priests for Reconciliation.
We also enjoy a Decoupage 101 Class in which we design items to purchase at our bake sales and Christmas Store. We are blessed with wonderful ladies who look forward to welcoming anyone to our beloved ministry.
We do this by:
- Calling members to provide dishes for the funeral lunches, setting up and decorating the dinner tables, preparing coffee, tea and cold beverages, and organizing the food brought into the kitchen. We are here to minister to our families and guests as they celebrate their loved ones lives. We also, have members who offer to help clean up the tables, wash dishes and clean the kitchen after each funeral. It is a very rewarding ministry.
- Attend to the vestments and altar cloths
- Decorating the church for special feast days and occasions including the Altar and foyers.
- Attend to the flowers on the altar.
- Host the dinners for our priests and traveling priests for the Reconciliation Evening twice a year.
- We also raise funds through a bake and gift sale at Christmas and Easter. The money goes toward our ministry of helping our parish.
- The Altar Society has also, enjoyed our annual Wine and Cheese Night in the Fall and a Wine and Chocolate Get Together in the Spring.
- We have enjoyed our new group, "Decoupage 101" in which we create Christmas and Spring items to add to the bake sales.
