Welcome

A Message from our Pastor

We are delighted to welcome you to St. Stephen Catholic Church, where our doors are always open to new faces and old friends alike. Our faith community is dedicated to spreading the love of God and sharing His message with all those who seek to hear it. Whether you are a long-time member of our parish or just visiting for the first time, we invite you to experience the warmth and hospitality of our congregation.

Rev. Emmet O'Hara, SCA

Pastor

Scammers are again using Father Emmet's name and fake email accounts, asking for help, a favor, or to buy gift cards. Scammers are clever and sound sincere. Do not respond to these emails or text messages. Just report them as junk.

Father Emmet and Father James will never contact you, asking for help, a request, or a favor. If you have already been contacted and responded to the scammers, don't hesitate to contact the police for assistance, especially if they have asked you to do anything unusual, such as buying gift cards, sending money, or making donations to an email or phone number. When the scammers ask you to buy the gift cards, they will ask you to scratch off the back and send a picture of it to them. DON'T DO THIS – As soon as you do, you have no way of getting your money back.

We would all jump at the chance to help Father Emmet and Father James out in a heartbeat. However, neither of them will ever text or email you asking for you to purchase anything including gift cards.

Please pass the word along to fellow parishioners. Talk with them about this topic and help spread the word. Father Emmet and Father James love the generosity of the parishioners here, but please note that they will never ask you for money or gift cards. It is easy to fall for these scams and we do not want you to fall victim.

Legitimate donation requests will be publicly announced on social media and in the bulletin with details about items you can bring to the church. They will be for physical items and not gift cards or money in any form.

ADDED NOTE: We are also receiving notifications that parishioners are receiving emails that look like they are coming from church staff about a burn victim. There is not a burn victim and we are NOT taking up donations for them.

Building Signing

On Monday, September 11, 2023, Father Emmet signed the contracts to commence the construction of the new Pallottine Building. It is a moment of great joy for us as we have successfully raised enough funds to start the groundbreaking. The Pallottine Building Committee and the Fall Festival Committee have collaborated to plan the official groundbreaking ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023, and mark the beginning of the Fall Fiesta.
